Do you start having the feeling that your days now started to filled with things to finish, plans to make, and responsibilities to take care of before the year comes to an end? Yes, November can the month when we become so focused on what needs to happen that we forget to experience what is happening right now.
We finish one task only to move straight into another, spend time with people while our minds are elsewhere, or overlook the daily things that means so much to our life. This is why the card of ‘Mindfulness’ show up.
A Year of Becoming series with Anouk Marie-Ange, a monthly reflection series we created as a space to reflect, then explores the shifts we experience in our daily lives. Guided by her intuitive deck, The Oracle of Light, each month Anouk draws one card, along with a reading and a journal prompt to guide us as we navigate change, rebuild momentum, and find balance within ourselves.
CARD OF THE MONTH : MINDFULNESS

The message from the card:
Your presence is a bridge between your inner and outer worlds. It brings you closer to yourself, to others, and to the life unfolding around you. Within you lies the power to return to your centre, to still your mind, and to reconnect with what is here. Mindfulness opens the way to a fuller, richer experience of life.
What you can reflect:
How often do we actually pay attention to what we're doing while we're doing it?
We might have breakfast while scrolling through our phones, reply to messages during a conversation, or think about our unfinished tasks while trying to relax. Even when we finally have time for ourselves, our minds can still be occupied with everything that happened earlier or everything waiting for us tomorrow.
It's easy to get caught in this cycle, especially when our days are busy. We start treating everyday moments as things to get through rather than experiences to be part of. Before we realise it, an entire day has passed, but we can barely remember what it felt like.
Mindfulness doesn't necessarily mean meditating for an hour or making major changes to our routines. It is also about recognising when your mind is elsewhere and gently bringing your attention back. Imagine something much simpler: putting your phone away while having a conversation, taking a moment to enjoy your morning coffee without rushing, or noticing how you feel before moving on with your day.
The practice is simply in noticing, then returning.
This month, try to give a little more attention to the moments you would usually overlook. You might find that being more present doesn't change what your day looks like, but it can change how you experience it, who knows?.
